ART FAIR TOKYO 2019

NUKAGA GALLERY is pleased to announce their participation in Art Fair Tokyo 2019.
Featuring works by Kumi Sugai, Hisao Domoto and Toshimitsu Imai who were based in Paris during the 1950s, the presentation would illuminate how the artists involved themselves in the Art Informel movement during the Post-War period. Art Informel was born as a movement opposed to modern rationalism by people who experienced World War II, the movement spread throughout Europe and changed the face of art history. Typical to works from Art Informel, traces of action on the impasto paintings convey the spirits of the artists who lived through the chaotic period and pursued the origin of life by drawing and painting.
In response to the reevaluation of Japanese Post-War art in recent years, the reputation for the artists mentioned above have been growing and their works are increasingly sought-after by collectors and museums both within and outside Japan. Focusing on works created from the 1950s to the early 1960s, the golden age of Art Informel, the show would also allow viewers to witness their works exhibited in São Paulo Art Biennia.Bringing together works by three of the Japanese pioneers of Art Informel, NUKAGA GALLERY is looking forward to seeing you at booth G24.

今年NUKAGA GALLERY也將參展ART FAIR TOKYO 2019。
此次展覽，將以戰後1950年代至法國參與不定形藝術運動的菅井汲、堂本尚郎、今井俊満等三位日本藝術家的作品為主，探討不定形藝術所傳達的藝術理念。起源於戰爭後的動盪時期 藝術家們為了探求藝術的根本，而提倡否定理性主義的束縛，創造出不同於以往的藝術型態。也因社會與經濟皆動盪的局勢下，藝術家們不再追求畫筆所創造出的美麗畫面，轉而著重於創作的軌跡中探討平凡生命的意義。
近年來由於日本戰後藝術受到國際間的關注，國內外的藏家以及美術館紛紛增加收藏的意願。本展覽將以不定形藝術全盛時期的五十至六十年代作品為主，當中包含了管井汲於1959年聖保羅雙年展展出之作品,誠摯期盼各位的蒞臨。
