若き日の印象派の画家達がフォンテーヌブローの森の中でコローに出会わなければ、彼らのパレットはあれほど明るくならなかったかもしれません。また、クールベが史上初の個展を開かなければ、彼らはグループ展の開催を思いつかなかったかもしれません。セザンヌは形態の面でも色彩の面でもキュビスムやフォーヴィスムの画家に大きな影響を与え、近代絵画の父とも呼ばれます。
NUKAGA GALLERY開廊記念展では―コローからミロへ―と題し、約100年の間に革新を続けた近代絵画の画家の中から、重要な9人の作品を展示いたしました。

NUKAGA GALLERY is proud to launch their new gallery in Ginza with an opening exhibition comprised of important works tracing the history of Modern Art from 19th Century Landscape painting and Impressionism to Cubism and Surrealism of the 20th Century. Focusing on nine prominent artists including Corot, Cézanne, Picasso and Miró, this inaugural exhibition will highlight notions common to the artists including challenges to tradition, exploration into the possibilities of painting and their innovation and subsequent inspiration.
